Memorandum of Gold Bullion Deposit 1885

Memorandum of gold bullion deposited at the United States Assay Office at New York on December 24, 1885. This deposit was made by the Mercantile National Bank in the amount of $1,859.98. The memorandum has three deep vertical folds and one lesser horizontal fold. It also has an abundance of calculations in pencil on the reverse along with an adhered, bent, torn and cancelled two cent stamp, some red stains and smudging. Overall, the reverse is evocative of the tromp l’oeil style practiced so well by William Harnett.

Priced at: $595.00
