A tough coin in Mint State condition. With well over 2 million coins struck at the New Orleans mint, only 4 coins have been graded at the gem level with 8 higher. The 1899-O is not known for having a great strike, but this example was not told that. Nicely struck devices with gorgeous pale rose and deep plum touching the centers. The outermost rims glow in a lovely violet-blue.
