1887 Gold Dollar PCGS PR65 Cameo (CAC)

1887 Gold Dollar PCGS PR65 Cameo (CAC)

The 1887 has one of the largest mintage in proof for the series with 1043 coins minted. One would expect this coin to be available, but between PCGS and NGC, and all proofs including Cameo and Deep Cameo, only 171 coins for the date have been graded. It seems a great many coins were mishandled before they even left the Mint, and examples are surprisingly scarce. This cameo offered here is in phenominal condition, this being one of 8 so graded with 6 higher. This is an absolutely spectacular coin. Completely original with deep watery fields in a glorious orange-gold color

1889 Princess Gold Dollar PCGS MS67

This final-year issue is exceptionally well preserved. With a population in MS67 of 180, (a large number for any issue in such a lofty grade) it seems apparent that this date was carefully preserved by collectors. The surfaces are highly lustrous and the striking details are intricately detailed on each side.
