1852 G$1 PCGS MS65 (CAC)

The Type I Gold dollar was the smallest U.S. coin minted with a diameter of 13 mm. It was not met with great public approval because of its size and later was changed. When the change was made they melted the Type I gold dollars that had not been distributed. So even with the higher mintage of over 2 million, finding a gem, as you can see by the current population figures, is quite a feat. This coin is extremely well preserved. The luster is extreme and the devices are precise.

PCGS Cert #06719954 cac

PCGS / NGC Population: 42/74 – 20/28 Higher
