1854 G$1 Type II PCGS MS64 (CAC)

February 24, 2010 Sales Archive, Sold - Gold Dollars

The Type ll gold dollars were struck using the metal from melted down Type l’s. And they themselves were used in the production of the Type lll’s to come. The melting of Type ll’s account for their scarcity today. GEM and near GEM examples are extremely difficult to find.
This piece has everything a collector could want. Outstanding luster, minimal marks, and phenominal eye appeal. Or, “Character”, as we like to think of it.

PCGS Cert #06678009 cac

PCGS / NGC Population: 206/148
