Central American Republic 1846-NG AE 8 Reale PCGS AU55

January 22, 2013 Sales Archive, Sold - World Coins

The concept of the Central American Republic is one that is modeled after our own United States. As its name suggest, it was a loose Confederation of Countries located in the Central America region. Sadly, because of corruption and in-fighting, it didn’t last long.
This design is considered by many to be one of the best depicted on ANY coinage with the sun rising from behind a mountain range. Lightly circulated showing only minimal wear coupled with great eye appeal
